Fairytale Fall Wedding at Curtis Arboretum | Steven + Lauren

One of my favorite things about shooting in the Philadelphia area is the abundance of unique and historic wedding venues. My first wedding at Curtis Hall and Arboretum - (designed in 1937 by Frederick Olmsted, the landscape architect behind New York City’s Central Park) did not disappoint! Steven and Lauren’s September 2021 wedding played out like a fairy tale under huge leafy canopies, on dramatic stone steps, and within an ornate historic ballroom.

Steven and Lauren are the type of couple I love to photograph - joyful, affectionate, and so playful! Following a sweet and tearful first look, they planned several surprises for each other and their guests throughout the day, including an elaborately choreographed first dance (complete with nods to 80's classic film "Dirty Dancing"), a ukulele serenade, and a surprise visit from Lauren's dog. I loved the elegant details they chose, their gorgeous fall florals, and their willingness to break off and try all kinds of fun and romantic photo opportunities with me and my second shooter Jes.

Enjoy the photos from this fun and elegant September wedding!
