St. Alphonsus National Shrine Traditional Latin Mass Wedding | Jessica + Taylor

My worst kept secret - I love Church weddings. I have to laugh when I hear some photographers clutching their camera straps at the thought of a dark old church, or bemoaning that church ceremonies are boring, because from my perspective, the spiritual side of a wedding day is the best part. Sign me up for the drama, mystery, and sense of the sacred that only a beautiful old cathedral can provide.

After our initial phone calls, I was dying to book Jessica and Taylor’s September 2021 wedding at the National Shrine of St. Alphonsus Liguori in Baltimore, MD. Jessica was an interior designer with a strong sense of detail planning her Catholic wedding ceremony in the Traditional Latin Rite. She and Taylor were prioritizing a beautiful Cathedral location for their Traditional Latin Mass wedding, and therefore willing to fly from Georgia and North Carolina respectively to be married at the Shrine in Baltimore - a Gothic Revival style Church administered by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter, (FSSP). They would follow their ceremony with an intimate celebration with friends and family at the Historic Clifton Mansion in Baltimore (formerly the country home of John Hopkins.)

There was so much to love about Jessica and Taylor’s day - thoughtfully planned outfit details, perfectly mild late-September weather, a dried flower toss on the steps of the Church, a golden sunset and a delicious meal shared among friends on the patio of Clifton Mansion.

Enjoy the photos from this beautiful 2021 wedding day!
